Der eingetrocknete Saft der Manna-Esche enthält 13% Mannit. Dieser Austauschstoff kommt auch in Feige .html"> (Olive)n, im Saft der Lärche .html"> (Pilze)n, sowie in Meeresalgen der Gattung ''Laminaria | (Laminaria)'' (der Gehalt kann bis zu 20% liegen vor.
