Lubumbashi

ist die Hauptstadt der rohstoffreichen Region Katanga .html"> (Kinshasa) die zweitgrößte Stadt der Demokratischen Republik Kongo | (Demokratische Republik Kongo|Demokratischen Republik Kongo). Lubumbashi wurde 1910 gegründet und hieß zunächst Elisabethville. Die Stadt entwickelte sich zur Region der Kupferherstellung. Auch andere Mineralien werden abgebaut, so z.B. Kobalt und Zink. In Lubumbashi gibt es einen Flughafen und eine Universität.
