umfasst im Gegensatz zur Kriegsmarine .html">Seeschiffe .html"> (Staat)es, die der Seeschifffahrt .html"> (Fischfang) dienen. Dabei gehören nur solche Seeschiffe zur Handelsmarine, die klassifiziert .html"> (Schiffsregister) eingetragen sind. Schiffe der Handelsmarine führen die Flagge des Staates, in dem sie registriert sind. Der Begriff Handelsmarine wird auch im Seerecht .html"> (Völkerrecht), Europarecht .html"> (Handelsrecht) und als statistischer | (statistik|statistischer) Terminus verwendet.
