Balancier

ist ein Teil der frühen Dampfmaschine .html"> (James Watt) verbessert und weiter entwickelt wurde. Die damaligen Maschinen hatten stehende Zylinder .html">Wattsche Parallelogramm .html"> (Hebel) der Maschine übernahm. Entsprechend dieser Aufgabe war er zunächst aus einem starken Baumstamm .html"> (Balanciersäule) und die Pleuelstange .html"> (Gußeisen) hergestellt, sofern man mit einer liegenden Dampfmaschine | (Liegende Dampfmaschine|liegenden Dampfmaschine) nicht ganz auf ihn verzichtete.
