Die
Aalmolche
(Amphiumidae), auch Fischmolche genannt, sind ausschließlich im Wasser lebende, nachtaktive, bis 1 m lange
Schwanzlurche .html">aal | (
Aale|aal)artigem Körper, lidlosen Augen und winzigen Gliedmaßen und nur zwei oder drei Zehen.
Die Aalmolche besitzen Lungen und an beiden Seiten des Kopfes je ein Kiemenloch. Sie fressen Wasser
insekten .html">Würmer .html"> (
Fische) und
Krebse .html"> (
Spermatophore) direkt in die
Kloake .html">Larven | (
Larve (Zoologie|Larven schlüpfen mit Kiemen und Gliedmaßen. Ihre Entwicklung ist eine unvollständige Verwandlung.
Eine größere Art ist der
Dreizehenaalmolch .html">roten Blutkörperchen .html"> (
Wirbeltiere).
